California Provides $10 Million for Family Justice Centers in New State Budget

Alliance CEO Gael Strack praised FJC Director Susun Kim for her advocacy and leadership: “Susun Kim worked diligently to make sure that everyone in the Legislature understood the power of the Family Justice Center framework. We worked hard to put Family Justice Centers in state law in 2013, creating a statutory scheme to define them and set standards for collaborative approaches (Penal Code section 13750) based on our published research outcomes. But Tim Grayson and Susun Kim have now helped connect the statute and our research to new funding for this multi-agency, lifesaving approach.”
