Mind Power in Action!

Mind Power in Action (MPA) is a community based and led mental health support project for adults in East Contra Costa who are Black, Indigenous, multiracial, and Asian/Pacific Islanders. It specifically focuses on culturally competent services for the Black community.

The program aims to recruit East Contra Costa County community members who will be trained as Community Health Workers (CHWs) that will provide workshops on managing stress and depression symptoms.

Get Involved

The Family Justice Center is collaborating with Village Keepers to host community listening sessions to gather input for adapting the curriculum to better meet the needs of local BIPOC community members. Our aim is to recruit 12 BIPOC residents as community health workers.
