What is Navigation?

If you are a victim of interpersonal violence (IPV) and aren’t sure what to do next, a Navigator at the Family Justice Center can help you take the first step toward safety and healing.

Compassionate and trained individuals who understand the complexities of domestic violence, human trafficking and other forms of abuse; Navigators provide culturally competent and trauma-informed support tailored to your unique need.

At each of our Family Justice Centers, Navigators act as your trusted point of contact, helping remove barriers, coordinate services, and connecting you with trusted resources.

How A Navigator Can Help

A navigator offers you a safe and confidential place to talk about what you’re currently experiencing. We are not mandated reporters, which means you can speak freely without fear of consequence.

After assessing your situation, your Navigator will complete a comprehensive needs and risk assessment and help you identify your goals. From there, they’ll offer connection to the most relevant support for you situation.

 – Restraining Orders
 – Immigration and Family Law Consultations
 – Personalized Safety Planning
 – Elder Abuse Prevention
 – Mental Health Counseling & Telehealth
 – And more resources tailored for your needs
